What People Say

Shin and Heel Pain

"2013 was a year of injury and healing, my legs suffered from shin splints, tight hamstrings and overall fatigue. I love running, and I was at a point where I couldn’t run a mile without feeling my shins groan in pain. Thankfully God led me to Christina and her Mighty Warrior program. The biggest impact came from Christina’s full body approach. She didn’t just look at my shins, but she dug deep, looking at my posture, musculature, and anything else that was out of whack. Christina doesn’t have a cookie cutter program; she tailored the plan to exactly what I needed. After 6 weeks I was back to running, and LOVING it!!”-Garrett H.: run, triathlons

RUnning Injuries & Efficiency

"Within two short years since I started running, I had managed to injure or irritate almost every major muscle group in my lower body. Like every runner with a competitive streak, I prescribed to the "no pain, no gain" mentality and had come to accept that pain and running injuries were just part of the price I had to pay for my lifestyle. Christina and Mighty Warrior changed all that. It turns out that the majority of running problems and repetitive use injuries stem from a poor understanding of running mechanics, and for the most part, bad posture and running form. One can read about proper running form, one can watch
elite athletes exhibit good running form, but one cannot really emulate a proper form without a bit of help. People who struggle with swimming form can attest to that. This is where I found Mighty Warrior's  approach to be the most beneficial.
Sure, the exercise drills and one on one attention were helpful. But more than that, I appreciated Christina's keen eyes, the fact that she could spot subtle gait and posture problems and give me instant feedback.
What I value most from my sessions with Mighty  Warrior is not the fact that I managed to bring most of my running aches and pains under control. It was the education. I learned not only how to listen to my body, but also how to take preventive actions to stave off injuries before they can sideline me. "

Enhance Endurance Before and After Respiratory Surgery

“I started working out with Christina prior to major respiratory surgery in an effort to improve my overall health and recovery faster from surgery. After surgery and recover Christina has been an invaluable asset to improving my health. Training with Christina has not only helped improve my overall fitness but has been a tremendous help to improving stress management. Working on posture with Christina during a workout has helped improve my posture during my work day, which has resulted in less aches and pains at night. I have more energy during the day and that helps keep me in a better mood. Working with Christina has been a blessing.” --Matt H.

Lower Back Pain

I met Christina in a foam roller class she was teaching. She introduced herself and said she was an Athletic Trainer. After 3 classes, I asked her exactly what kind of training she did. When I heard Alignment Therapist in Posture and Pain I was so excited! I have had lower back pain for all of my adult life. My right shoulder has also been lower than my left from compensating for my back for at least 20 years. My way of coping was to have massages when I had bad back pain. I would even schedule a
massage when I knew I was going to do something that would throw my back out. My left hip has chronically hurt me as well. So much so that I could not sleep on my left side and have taken pain medication for several years. Christina did an evaluation and went over her findings with me. We started with small rotation exercises to help the rotation in my hip and some posture exercises and stretches. After 1 ½ weeks, I had a big sewing project where I would be seated for many hours for about 3 days. I would stand up gingerly each time expecting my back to be in pain and it was not! The consistent exercises Christina had me doing was paying off already. Christina had me walking on the treadmill and doing balancing exercises. My hip had always kept me from trying to run and my hip was
no longer hurting…at all. It took me a few more weeks to ask Christina if she thought I could run. We are worked on training my body to run with good posture and in the correct position and stride. I did not want to be an old lady who could barely get around and with Christina’s help, I know that will not be
me. I feel truly blessed to have found Christina and have recommended her to many of my friends.

“I was never exactly an athlete, but I have always been active. I enjoyed swimming, hiking, & yoga. Over the past few years I found myself modifying my exercise because of pain. Eventually I got to the point where just walking the dogs would lead to painful tightness/ spasms in my right hip & lower back. One night when I couldn't sleep, I found myself watching & following "sit & be fit" on PBS. Its not that it wasn't good exercise, I just realized I was 45 and I wanted to be able to get through a day without pain. I went to my doctor and she referred me to an orthopedic surgeon.  Much of my pain was coming from FAI, I had an arthroplasty. However, after the surgery I continued to experience sacroiliac pain with every day use, and if I did try to exercise, I would get spasms in my lower back after any exertion. I was referred to Christina by my orthopedic surgeon. He had helped me by repairing the damage in my hip/acetabulum caused by femoroacetabular impingement syndrome. I called Christina; she did a complete assessment of me, validating my experience and seeking to understand the origins of my pain. When she showed me her analysis, I started to see how my posture was compensating for instability, but also contributing to my pain. It was eye opening and such a relief, to have someone review my whole body, rather than focus on an individual part or system. We started my rehab in the pool, it was encouraging to be active, without pain. After a few weeks we progressed to dry land. I chose to see Christina 3 times a week.  I had resigned myself to a life of reduced mobility and chronic pain, but Christina has showed me ways to build my strength, stamina and stability, improve my posture and reduce my pain.  She works with all of me, mind body and spirit.  I am active now in a way
I never thought I would be."

Knee Pain while Running

"I had a wonderful experience with Mighty Warrior! Christina, who worked with me, explained exercises clearly and was easy to contact if I had a question. I was able to learn how to run with correct form and was able to establish lifelong habits that will help my body to stay well-aligned and healthy. I was also able to get rid of knee pain that was there previously if I ran for more than 10 minutes. Now I can run without pain!"
